Rebecca Hall and Ben Affleck in The Town

The Town

Ben Affleck has returned to the director’s chair for the unimaginatively-named heist film, The Town. Angelina Jolie as Evelyn Salt in Salt

Salt

Angelina Jolie stars as Evelyn Salt in the new action thriller Salt. It’s a “by the numbers” spy film with a couple exciting scenes, but they don’t really make up for the overly unrealistic and predictable plot. Liv Tyler in The Strangers

The Strangers

The Strangers takes a while to get started, but viewers that aren’t expecting anything groundbreaking might encounter a few worthwhile moments with just a little patience. The story unfolds somewhere between ‘sloth’ and ‘glacier’ on the speed scale and instead of real characterization we get to piece together the events of the evening that occurred before we meet the main characters.
