Best Song of April 2009
For the month of April, there were six songs that made the list. Silversun Pickups with “It's Nice To Know You Work Alone,” “Burning Bridges” from k-os, Immaculate Machine with “Sound The Alarms,” “Pennies” from Lady Sovereign, Bat For Lashes with “Pearl's Dream” and “Gold Guns Girls” from the band that was my favorite for a few years, Metric.

Silversun Pickups - Swoon
The Silver Lake district of Los Angeles houses a decent collection of hipsters, some of the best coffee on the west coast (Intelligentsia and Lamill) and one of the better bands to show up in years, Silversun Pickups. Their first release, Carnavas, was one of the best albums from 2006, a year with an impressive list of bands with great debut albums.

My Wishlist for SXSW 2009
This is my SXSW schedule for 2009. I’m not actually going to SXSW this year, but these are the bands that I would go see if I had the chance to attend.
