K’naan was born in Mogadishu, Somalia and spent almost the entirety of his pre-teen years there, only learning English after he moved to New York and then Toronto. K’naan’s voice and delivery are frequently compared to Eminem, but his subject matter is completely different.

Miranda Lee Richards - Light of X
Miranda Lee Richards learned to play guitar from Kirk Hammett of Metallica, but the stuff that she plays is nothing like Metallica. Her music has a dreamy quality with slight country undertones and is somewhat reminiscent of bands like The Sundays and Mazzy Star.
