Top 3 Overrated Albums of 2008

There were quite a few albums that showed up multiple times when I cross-referenced the best albums of 2008 and this list is skewed against the ones that were on the most Top 10 lists. The other criterion is that I didn’t like them, but they are only scored by frequency of recommendation…I dislike these all equally and I’m sharing this information to further elucidate my musical tastes. Here are the the top three most disappointing albums of 2008:
3. Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago
The music on this album is not bad, but I just didn’t like his singing style or his voice and I couldn’t get past it.
2. Vampire Weekend – Vampire Weekend
The voice complaint also fits here, but the cheery happiness of the music put me off as well. This album was extra disappointing because a customer recommended it when I was a cab driver.
1. Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes
I like the cover art from Pieter Bruegel the Elder, but I couldn’t get into the music. I will, however, admit that I really like the song “Mykonos” on their Sun Giant EP, but it is the only thing from them that I like.
I couldn't disagree anymore
I couldn't disagree anymore with your three choices. All three are good to great albums with For Emma being absolutely stunning. That album when listened to with headphones by yourself has the power to break your heart. It's truly staggering.
