Eden Log

Eden Log is a French science fiction film and another part of the Six-Shooter Film Series from Magnet Releasing.
At the beginning of the movie the protagonist wakes up in a dark cave with no memory of who he is or how he got there. Then he obtains a light and starts his mission. Where is he? What’s the deal with that dead guy? Where is he going? None of this seems to matter because he appears to have a destination and travels with a purpose. That purpose is most likely the director telling him what to do next, but don’t focus on that. On the other hand, the whole thing plays very much like a badly designed video game so maybe there is only one possible path for the main character to take.
The plot is basically our clueless hero wandering from one darkly lit area to another trying to avoid mutated creatures and suited-up people with guns. In between these moments there are exposition updates from recordings that he finds…again, like a video game. Eventually he encounters a suited-up person without a gun and has to sit through a massive exposition dump before this person runs a test on him.

Don’t worry about potential spoilers because the “story” of Eden Log is incomprehensible at best. It would probably make more sense if you watched it in a language that you don’t speak because then you would have to use your imagination…something the filmmakers kept to a minimum. Actually, it might be best to mute the movie and play music instead – because when they get in lighted areas some of the visuals are interesting – though most of the film takes place in the dark.
And just to put things in perspective: if your only choices for movies are Ultraviolet, the Scorpion King, Aliens vs. Predator, XXX and Eden Log…watch this movie last.
